Company co-founder, with 30 years of leadership, management, marketing and sales; Former Officer in the South African Airforce (Air Defense Unit). Distinguished sales careers at Burroughs. Sperry, Unisys, Prime Computer and Sybase. Also founded: Samech Technology, PriceCompete and Strategic Data Retention.
Quin Gregor, Chief Operating Officer
Company co-founder with more than 30 years of practical experience in the areas of computer operations, tape, email & file analysis, and related computer forensics. Mr. Gregor is a former high performance computing software developer who worked on Cray Supercomputers for 14 years. It is lessons learned from this technology that are applied to OrcaTec’s processing system. Mr. Gregor is an expert in the areas of electronic discovery and computer storage technology. He has been engaged in a large number of the most prominent eDiscovery cases. Prior to joining OrcaTec, he served as expert at LECG and founded the electronic discovery and forensics practice at eMag Solutions LLC. He is a member of the Sedona Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production, and holds an MS from Georgia Tech.
Herb Roitbat, Ph.D., Chief Scientist, Chief Technology Officer
Co-founder of OrcaTec LLC (CA) and the father of Concept Search. Before starting OrcaTec, Dr. Roitblat was Chief Scientist and a co-founder of DolphinSearch, as well as an award-winning Professor of psychology at the University of Hawaii. He has been granted four patents and has others pending on concept search technology. Dr. Roitblat is widely recognized as an expert in search and retrieval technology, particularly in the area of eDiscovery. He received his BA Degree from Reed College in Portland, OR and his Ph.D. in Psychology from The University of California-Berkeley. In addition to his scientific work, Dr. Roitblat has been writing extensively about the problems of dealing with massive amounts of electronic data and the emerging standards for dealing with those problems. He has been a member of the Sedona Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production, on the Advisory Board of the Georgetown Legal Center Advanced eDiscovery Institute, and a member of the 2011-2013 Program Committees of the Georgetown Legal Center Advanced eDiscovery Institute. He is a co-founder of the Electronic Discovery Institute and a member of the Board of Governors of the Organization of Legal Professionals. Dr. Roitblat is a frequent speaker on eDiscovery, particularly concerning search, categorization, predictive coding, and quality assurance.
Winslow Chapman, Director of Sales
Sales expert with a specialty in getting new and valuable cutting-edge technologies accepted in the legal marketplace. Since 1989, Winslow has consistently been a national top 10 sales consultant for such companies as Cataphora, Thomson-West, Lexis-Nexis, Cricket Technologies, McGraw-Hill, Matthew Bender and OnSite E-Discovery. He is a noted expert on how and why attorneys, law firms and corporate legal departments make purchasing decisions, and how to help companies and firms adopt technology-assisted, time-saving methods for age-old problems.
Ian Kilov, Chief Financial Officer
Business expert, auditor and financial manager with more than 30 years experience, including extensive Big-4 international experience. With deep knowledge of business systems and solutions, Mr. Kilov’s skills extend far beyond that of a conventional CFO, into business consulting, business process redesign, and marketing and sales strategies. As a visionary and pragmatist, Mr. Kilov is an integral part of the OrcaTec management team determining future growth strategies of the company. He holds a BS and MS in Accounting from the University of South Africa.
